They couldn’t wait to call each other husband and wife.
I know Jake and Alyssa from our local climbing gym L’escalade Fitness in Lexington, Kentucky. They met climbing and fell fast and hard for each other. After a few months, they decided to tie the knot in an intimate winter wedding at Cliffview Resorts in the Red River Gorge, Kentucky. It might’ve been cold and damp in February, but their love added flames to everyone’s hearts.
From our first consultation, it became clear to me that they couldn’t wait to call each husband and wife. They planned and executed everything in just under a month. Location held sentimental significance for both of them. They hold a similar passion for climbing, and the Gorge is both their sanctuary and playground.
Both Jake and Alyssa indicated to me that their photos should be people centered. After all, it’s the people in their lives that support and love them. So from the moment I arrived, my camera sought out moments that emphasized their personalities and connection with others. Nothing stopped Jake and Alyssa from enjoying their day to the fullest. Despite the rain, I never saw one frown or raised eyebrow of concern. They took the conditions in stride. In fact, I don’t think they ever felt a single raindrop. Below is a very brief collection from their day- moments from getting ready, first look, ceremony and reception at Cliffview Resort. All photos are people focused.
